No news yet

I know you are all very anxious to know the plans about the funeral arrangements. As of now we don't have any more details. They said it could take 5-7 days before Rob is in Nebraska. We're hoping we can get this coordinated within the next couple of days to help with travel arrangements for those of you who are wanting to attend. We're hoping the funeral will be on Sunday (7th) but we won't know for sure until we get more details. I'll let you know as soon as we do. Thank you all so much for the comments. Our families are all being wonderful support for each other and we're hanging in there.

Dena, Julia, Eva

My tears flowed like the rain against a window as I read the last 2 blogs about Rob. My heart weeps for all of you...Dena, Julia, Eva and also for both Rob's and your parents...and all those who truly knew Rob and called him friend.

Everyday after I read your blog I would kneel in front of my home altar and pray that the 'Creator' would do what was best for Rob.

I personnally believe that he gave Rob the strength to fight as much as Rob did to the level he attained so Rob could let you know that he knew you{Dena} were with him at his bedside.
Rob drank in the sight of Julia the two times that she came to see him. The second time I believe gave great relief to Rob because Julia accepted him for she saw that he was still her Dad.
The 'Creator' answered both of our prayers when we were asking 'Him' to do what 'He' thought was best for Rob.

The 'Creator' look at Rob's body and found it was healing.
'He' then looked into the mind and found it dying.
'He' looked at the soul and found it was pleading for mercy.
'He' listened to Rob's "Heart's Love" and discovered that she was placing Rob into 'His' hands.
So, the 'Creator' opened 'His' arms and welcomed Rob back onto the Streets of Heaven.
And, Rob was ment by all the Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Air Men, and Coasties that were already walking those 'Streets'.

Yes, you and the girls now have a very special watcher looking down from Heaven.
Know that Rob's 'Love' for you has just moved to another level. He will patiently wait for his "Heart's Love" to complete her tasks and find she is ready to join him.

Blessings to you, Dena, Julia, Eva and all who 'Loved' and cared for Rob.

Dena, My heart and prayers go out to you and Rob's Family in that this transition in life is as easy as possible. I will never forget the stories we heard about Rob in nursing school, both the ups and downs but in the long run... you loved each other very much and that shows through your two beautiful little girls. I will also never forget when we "found" each other in the same honeymoon spot. How ironic! Rob will be there sitting on the girls' shoulders as their guardian angel EVERY DAY!!! Just know that you have a lot of people thinking about you and praying that you find comfort and peace!

It's interesting how affected one can get about other person/family they don't even know. I found myself weeping about you and your children. It is a selfish thing humans have about someone dying. We want so bad for our loved ones to be with us forever, here in the flesh co-existing with us, living our lives. When in all reality we should be rejoicing for them as they get to be with the Father! No pain, No stress, No fear, No anything bad! How fortunate are those that go before us and get to watch and guard over us as we live out our lives here on earth!

You know, when my mother in law passed away at a very young age, the only thing that kept me going was to think about God and his beautiful flower garden. A garden filled with the most beautiful souls. One, now, being your husband, father, & son. You see, God only wants the most beautiful flowers in his garden, not weeds!

I do pray for you and your beautful family, to find peace, and strength during this time and for the years and months to come.

My love and prayers are with you all!

I'M FREE
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief; don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

A prayer...
Those we love must someday pass beyond our present sight... Must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light. But we know that like a candle their lovely light will surely shine to brighten up another place more perfect... more divine. And in the realm of Heaven where they shine so warm and bright. Our loved ones live forevermore in God’s eternal light.

Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what's to be, a resting place along the road to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys, different paths along the way- we all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay . . .
our destination is place far greater than we know- for some the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward, and find an everlasting peace together with the Lord.

If you’re reading this
My momma is sitting there
Looks like I only got a one way ticket over here
I sure wish I could give you one more kiss
War was just a game we played when we were kids
Well I’m laying down my gun
I’m hanging up my boots
I’m up here with God
And we’re both watching over you

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul
Is where my momma always prayed where it would go.
If you’re reading this I’m already home.

If you’re reading this
Half way around the world
I won’t be there to see the birth of our little girl
I hope she looks like you
I hope she fights like me
Stand up for the innocent and the weak
I’m laying down my gun
Hanging up my boots
Tell dad I don’t regret that id follow in his shoes

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul is where my momma always prayed where it would go
If you’re reading this, I’m already home

If you’re reading this, there is going to come a day
You move on and find someone else and that’s okay
Just remember this
I’m in a better place
Soldiers live in peace and angels sing amazing grace

So lay me down
In that open field out on the edge of town
And know my soul is where my momma prayed where that it would go
If you’re reading this
If you’re reading this

Dena,

I am tearing up as I am writing you this. The night I found out that Rob had passed we had a convoy attacked here in Baghad. So it was a really rough night for me. I can't imagine what you are going through. Lisa, was keeping me informed of Rob's progress. I was so hopeful, as I know you were. He was always stubourn and I knew he would fight with everything he had. But sometimes God has other plans. I know he is in a better place now watching over us. He made the ultimate sacrifice for God and country, and for that he will never be forgotten.

It seems like just yesterday he was sitting in my livingroom and we were talking about our upcoming deployments. Rob his third and I my first. Or out on his boat waterskiing and wakeboarding on Milford Lake. It still does not feel real to me. I will truley miss him as a great friend and fellow Soldier. We were both doing what we love.

Dena, you and the girls are in my prayers. I wish I could be there for you in your time of need. Lisa told me she is waiting to hear from you to find out the funeral details. I told her I am sure you are very busy and you would call her in due time.

Tell Julia and Eva I said hi from Iraq and I hope to see you all when I am back on R&R. My prayers are with you.

Love Always,

Ryan

Dena and Family, I don't know your family, but I heard about what happened through a mutual friend. I read your blog and it brought me to tears. God gave you the strength that you had while Rob was in the hospital as we will give you the strength that you need now. Your faith and strength has inspired me. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. I know Julia and Eva will grow up knowing their dad was a true American Hero. God Bless!

Dena,

We are trying to insure the Patriot Guards are present at Rob`s services, but the NE Captain of the organization needs your OK before he can mobilize the men. Please provide a contact phone #.
I`m Julie`s neighbor in MN, Bob Wolfgang- jrw173d@aol.com 651-452-2719 I`m working with a guard member with whom I served in Vietnam here in MN. Hopefully this is already taken care of for you.
