Update from Nancy

I don't think Dena will mind- I wanted to give you guys an update based on the information I'm getting from a variety of sources.

Looks like Rob was stable enough for the flight today. All three ladies (Dena, Rob's Mom, and Dena's Mom) were able to join him on the plane for transport back to the states. This is great news and makes coordinating so much easier on this end!

They are due to arrive at Andrews Air Force Base today around 4:30pm EST, and will travel from there to Bethesda Naval Medical Center.

I'm sure Dena will be on later to give more specifics, I just wanted to share what I've learned at this point since I know so many people are anxiously awaiting news!

Keep the prayers and comments coming- you guys are the best! The support for the Yllescas family has been amazing and I know they are feeling it!

Nancy

P.S. Just a thought- Since this entry was from me vs. Dena, I was thinking if you'd like to comment, maybe your message can be specifically to Rob this time. That way, Dena can print them out and read them to him when she gets a chance... :)

Rob, You keep-on being the fighter every knows you are and respects you for that. When we first met, I was already becoming fast friends with your wife and then I met you. It had been a couple years since I got out of the Army and surprising to me, your passion and the way you spoke about your soldiers stirred my old Army Hooah feelings from within me. I always enjoyed talking with you about that and knowing you were out there taking care-of soldiers as they should be. You are a great leader, Rob..tough and fair at the same time. Now, it is time for you to lead yourself from within and have absolutely no doubt you will. Remember to be fair when you are being tough on yourself. And remember that you have several that will be right by your side loving and encouraging you just like your troops. We are all part of your Army now, your group of warriors fighting hard with you on your road to recovery. One of many, Karen Bender

Hi Rob, we have never met, but I first became aware of your plight via email, and now I follow it as often as I can via this blog set up by your amazing wife. I wanted to let you know that people from all over the world are not only thinking of you, but also willing you on. As a civilian nurse I have cared for many bruised and battered people, few as honorable as you, and yes, the journey to recovery is assuredly long. But it can hold many surprisingly wonderful, challenging, and growing moments. Given your incredible survival to date, and the loving strength so evident in the comments posted, I have no doubt you will continue to make those who know and love you very proud.

And, ROB...I just want to say I RESPECT YOU, I THANK YOU and, I LOVE YOU! I praise God everyday that I live in this great Nation where I have FREEDOM to THINK, ACT, BELIEVE how I choose and I know it is because of YOU and those in the Armed forces that protect us and protect what we stand for in this great nation!
I will NEVER take lightly the sacrifice that you have made and, I will FOREVER be grateful to you!
And, Dena….I want YOU to know that I don’t take lightly the sacrifices that military wives make! I know that Military wives are as STRONG as their SOLDIERS that they love...and, I RESPECT YOU, I THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU!!
For everyone of you that log on that are military ...I want YOU to know that I SOOOO appreciate you, and, I will NEVER take for granted the sacrifices that YOU ALL DO as military men and women.
At, UNIMAGINABLE times like these God may be questioned...but, Rob and Dena God is ALWAYS, working behind the scenes in our lives. With all the things that you are facing today and that you will be facing, the trials you are going through, God has a plan to turn things around in your favor. Right now, He is working out a plan for your good. Right now, He is orchestrating the right people to help heal you ...mind, body And, your spirit. Some days it may be hard to see it in the natural, just keep looking with your eyes of faith to overcome everyday.

Keep strong. Keep believing. Keep following His Word. Focus on His goodness and his promises, knowing that He will always bless the people who seek after Him. Because he promises, you will see His plan come to pass. And, YOU WILL raise up VICTORIOUS!

We know that God will work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
